Solar Garden Lighting & Fountains Popular for the Spring

Farmington Hills, MI May 25, 2004 – As the cost of energy continues to rise, and the cost of solar panels are falling, the sales of solar garden lighting, solar fountains and solar birdbaths have taken a large increase this spring.

Have you been wanting to enhance your yard with landscape lighting, but haven’t because you hate the thought of running power cables? Adding lights is now easier than ever with the large selection of solar garden lights on the market this spring. Just place these in any location that allows for direct sunlight through the day, and they will automatically illuminate at night. You won’t have to remember to turn it on or off!

How Does it Work?
During the day, the solar panel on the top of the light will convert the sunlight into electricity and recharge the included rechargeable battery. In the evening the light will turn on automatically. The hours of light generated with each charge depends on the geographical location, weather conditions and seasonal lighting availability. World Wide Green cuts consumer prices for solar energy with more than 50%!

Zaandam, The Netherlands – June 2002 – Prices for consumption of solar electricity offered by World Wide Green (http://www.worldwidegreen.com) have been reduced by more than 50%. Currently the price of the product World Wide Green Solar is available to customers world-wide for 30 €cents per kWh. For this price customers get the guarantee that the amount equivalent to a certain share of the electricity they purchase from their regular electricity supplier is produced by new solar energy plants somewhere in the world.

World Wide Green is the first company ever offering people in every country in the world the possibility to choose for a guarantee that the amount of electricity they use is produced by new renewable energy sources. It delivers the green update to its customers by making use of recently emerged green certificate systems in several countries. Green certificates are also known as green tags, green tickets or renewable energy credits. Official green certificate systems have been put in place during 2001 in Australia, Austria, the Netherlands and Texas. In the coming years many countries in Europe, America and Asia will follow.

“Being able to purchase renewable energy certificates world-wide starts to pay-off. It allows us to acquire certificates, on behalf or our customers, in those countries where the circumstances for renewable technologies are best.” says Gerrit Jan Schaeffer, General Director of World Wide Green. “Wind energy certificates from countries with much wind, solar energy certificates from countries with abundant sun-shine.”

In addition to World Wide Green Solar, the company also offers the product World Wide Green Wind. This product only costs an additional 3 €cents/kWh. Schaeffer: “A substantial share of our customers show interest to include a certain percentage solar energy in their energy mix, even though the price and cost of solar is substantially higher than that of wind. The price reduction of our solar product will allow such customers to further increase their solar energy share”.

World Wide Green is a company that exist as a venture (v.o.f.) since 1 January 2002. The main activity of World Wide Green is to provide the service of a ‘green update’ of the electricity use of its customers. Its main way of selling this service is through its Internet site www.worldwidegreen.com. World Wide Green procedures and products are controlled by the well-known German environmental Institute for Applied Ecology, the Oeko Institut. More information on the Oeko quality certification procedure can be found at www.oeko.de/service/greencert.

Dr. Gerrit Jan Schaeffer is a renowned expert on green certificate systems world-wide. Work in this field was done for the European Commission as well as for governments of European and Asian countries. He co-authored several leading reports and articles in scientific journals on green certificates. During 2001 he was chairman of the Dutch National Team of the international Renewable Energy Certificate System (RECS) platform (www.recs.org). He was also vice-representative of the Netherlands in the RECS-Presidium.
